Kanya and Beans of Shreveport Cottage Homestead at the 2021 #Eat318 Installation

Shreveport Cottage Homestead began in the fall of 2020 as a small holiday pie making business. Following a layoff during the kickoff of the pandemic, owner Kanya Michelle decided to make pies and other treats in order to make money while she finished her undergraduate degree. Together, she and her partner Paul Loggins began to create scones, pies, tasty drinks and cocktail mixers to sell at pop up events.

In the summer of 2022 Shreveport Cottage Homestead transitioned to Shreveport Biscuit Company, a brand focused on small batch handmade buttermilk biscuits and all the fixins! Our frozen ready-to-bake biscuits can now be found across Louisiana at local retailers, baked to enjoy at popups events including at the award winning Shreveport Farmers Market, and twice a month for Sunday Breakfast from their Highland Center kitchen workspace.
