Meet Shreveport Biscuit Company

Kanya and Beans of Shreveport Cottage Homestead at the 2021 #Eat318 Installation

Shreveport Biscuit Company is a woman-owned small business created by Kanya Michelle in during the 2020 holiday season as Shreveport Cottage Homestead, a simple baked goods popup offering pies and scones to holiday shoppers. Eventually the business shifted towards a breakfast at home bakery, offering both baked and frozen biscuits & spreads which grew in popularity both in the Shreveport-Bossier area and then across the state offering frozen ready-to-bake biscuits in cities including Baton Rouge, Metairie, and New Orleans.
In the summer of 2022 Shreveport Biscuit Company was officially born, debuting a variety of thoughtfully made biscuit sandwiches at the Shreveport Farmers Market. The popularity of these biscuit sandwiches created a major buzz with market shoppers, and that popularity fueled Kanya to open the biscuit shop storefront you can now find today on Line Ave in Shreveport.
In addition to a full menu of biscuit sandwiches, sides, and biscuit specials made with locally farmed ingredients the storefront also serves as a local market offering locally farmed & produced foods, gifts, sustainably sourced grocery goods, and of course those ever popular frozen ready-to-bake biscuits.
